Widely acknowledged as the one of the world’s greatest living string players, violinist Maxim Vengerov has spent 40 years on stage. Making his first recording at the age of 10, he went on to win Grammy and Gramophone artist of the year awards and was recently appointed Classic FM’s first ever solo Artist in Residence. Featuring Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.1 alongside Rachmaninov’s triumphant return to symphonic composition, the programme begins with Ukraine-born Malta Philharmonic Orchestra Composer-In-Residence Alexey Shor’s Seascapes.
