Maxim Vengerov, “one of the most brilliant violinists you’ll ever hear” (The Washington Post), returns with noted collaborator Polina Osetinskaya. Enjoy intimate, yet remarkably rich arrangements of several works not originally composed for violin and piano, including selections from Shostakovich’s From Jewish Folk Poetry and Tchaikovsky’s playful Valse-scherzo, a true violin showpiece. Also included are J. S. Bach’s First Sonata for Violin and Keyboard, plus Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir d’un lieu cher, the composer’s sole work originally written as a violin and piano duet.
